This Sunday is set to be a fascinating day out at the Orbost Arts Centre, with an antiques evaluation set to take place.
Doors open from 10am – 3pm.
There’s no need to book, just turn up on the day. $5 per item, maximum of three items.
Bring along your treasured heirlooms, art and jewellery and get them evaluated by a panel of three specialists who will give you an idea of their worth and origins.
Simon Storey covers the area of antiques.
For more than 30 years Simon has valued national, state and regional collections, including the National Museum of Australia and the entire collection of the Australian War Memorial among other important projects.
Anne Rowland is the art specialist with several decades of experience working in art galleries and museums, both in Australia and overseas.
In retirement, Anne is the Volunteer Collection Researcher for the Art Gallery of Ballarat and volunteers with collection cataloguing at the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections, at Sovereign Hill, Ballarat.
Bronwyn Pratt has been a Gold and Silver Smith Jewellery creator and designer for over 50 years.
Her expertise in this field includes creating bespoke items and she has owned several businesses making jewellery.
She is the past president of The Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia and is still on the National Council. These three highly experienced and dedicated specialists are
volunteering their time and knowledge for the benefit of the local community to give the opportunity for a unique day out and raise funds for the Orbost Arts Centre.
No items, no worries, just come along for a fun day and watch the specialists in action.
