The Orbost Basketball Association recently played two competitive nights of junior finals.
On night one, the under 12 mixed finale, between Red Legends and Blue Warriors was a tight game, the Legends capitalising on a handy five-point break at half time, hanging on to win by five goals.
Legend’s Layla Burn (11 points) was awarded player of the match by the referees, Joe Millward (16) impressed for the Warriors.
In the under 17 mixed finale, Phoenix came from five points behind at half time, in a match with numerous lead changes, to defeat the Flyers by five points.
A 23-point effort from Jarrah Morrison, saw him awarded the best grand final player as voted by the referees.
The Flyers were well served by Campbell Edlington (16) and Lachlan Robinson (14).
Night two kicked off with a thrilling under 10 mixed finale, the Yellow Lions holding on to beat the Black Zebras by a single point, after a dominant first half saw them eight-point leaders at half time, with Harrison Clay (18) voted best player.
The biggest winners of the night were the Alley Oops in the under 14 mixed final, 16-point winners over D-Fence, with Hunter Greaves (33) starring for the winners and picking up best on court.
Mila Mundy (16) battled hard for the runner-ups.
