Leigh Martin was awarded player of the match in the grand final by the referees, he finished the match with 17 points, but unfortunately his side went down. (PS)

The Orbost Basketball Association men’s grand final was played last week, with Mud Hens defeating Blazers 50-42.

It was a tight and competitive match with the scores tied at half time 24 apiece.

In a hard fought second half it was the Mud Hens who finished best, led by Lochlan Tormey who finished with 22 points, while Jordan Ross and Andrew Kenny both finished with 11 points.

Leigh Martin was voted best player on the court by the referees, despite being in the losing team, he finished with an impressive 17 points.

Registration will close for the summer season on October 13.

The schedule will see Monday’s occupied by division one girls, under 12 and 14 mixed competitions.

The women’s competition will be played on Tuesday nights, while Wednesday will see the under 10 mixed, mens and division one boys played.
