The Orbost Education Centre has a new manager and is back in action, gearing up to deliver old and new courses.
Manager Susie Bady is a Cabbage Tree Creek local, and comes to the centre with a history in community work across East Gippsland, in Orbost, Bairnsdale, and Cann River.
“It’s great to be back in Orbost, working for such a valuable community owned service, delivering lifelong learning opportunities,” Susie said.
“There’s lots we can contribute to the town, from free introductory courses that help people take their next career step, to facilitating the delivery of essential employment tickets here in Orbost.
“People don’t have to travel down the line to get computer training, food handling ticket, study hub access, white card training and more,” she said.
“If people are wanting something that we’re not offering this time, we’d love it if they’d get in touch, so we can make sure and do it in the future.
“We especially would like to hear from employers, about what sort of training our locals need, to get their foot in the door.”
