Local blood donors are being urged to roll up their sleeves this month, with the Mobile Blood Bank Bus officially locking in a return date to Orbost.
The vital regional service will arrive on Wednesday, June 10, providing an accessible opportunity for East Gippsland residents to make life-saving donations without the need for extensive travel.
To maximise the impact of the visit, the Orbost Neighbourhood House team is rallying a coordinated community effort.
The organisation has arranged a dedicated group initiative, which includes a free lunch for participating donors. Under the arrangement, a coordinated transport bus will depart from the Orbost Neighbourhood House carpark at 9.30am, returning donors back to town by 1pm.
Organisers have noted that 10 blocked appointment slots have been successfully secured together to ensure a streamlined process for local participants.
Due to strict regional collection protocols and limited capacity on the transport shuttle, advanced bookings are strictly essential. Local residents looking to register as a donor or secure a seat on the community bus can scan the
QR codes available at the Neighbourhood House or call the office directly to check availability.
