A powerful joint effort by two of the district’s most active community organisations is set to bring local residents together for a vital cause next month.
The Orbost Neighbourhood House and the Orbost Country Women’s Association (CWA) branch have joined forces to host Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on Tuesday, June 16.
The official Cancer Council fundraiser will run from 10am to noon at St. James Hall, offering locals an opportunity to catch up while raising critical funds for cancer research, prevention, and support services.
Organisers are currently running a major call-out for local bakers, community members, and businesses to help make the morning a success.
The Neighbourhood House and CWA are gladly accepting donations of homemade cakes, slices, and savoury items to sell on the day.
In tandem with the morning tea, a major community raffle is underway to boost the fundraising tally. Local residents can purchase raffle tickets every Wednesday morning directly in front of the Orbost Newsagency, or drop into the Orbost Neighbourhood House during business hours to secure their entries.
Community members interested in baking donations or volunteering at the event are encouraged to register their interest by calling the Orbost Neighbourhood House.
