Vegetable and horticulture producers across Gippsland will have the opportunity to connect, share insights, and discuss the future of the local industry when VegNET and Food & Fibre Gippsland host a series of Growers Networking Nights across the region this month.
Scheduled over three consecutive evenings from July 14 to 16, the events aim to bring together growers of vegetables, herbs, and other horticultural crops for an informal evening of peer connection and industry updates.
Organisers say the networking nights are designed to be a highly collaborative space where local producers can share on-farm experiences, hear firsthand about upcoming VegNET projects, and directly help shape future agricultural extension work across Gippsland.
To make the sessions as accessible as possible for busy farm businesses, the events have been spread across three key agricultural hubs in the region:
– South Gippsland: Tuesday, July 14 from 6pm to 8.30pm at McCartin’s Hotel (4/2 Bair Street, Leongatha).
– East Gippsland: Wednesday, July 15 from 6pm to 8.30pm at the Farmers Home Hotel (67 Main Road, Lindenow).
– Wellington Shire: Thursday, July 16 from 6pm to 8.30pm at Maffco (1 Maffco Lane, Maffra).
Dinner and refreshments will be provided at all three locations. Producers are strongly encouraged to bring along colleagues, business partners, or family members involved in their operations, with organisers noting that a larger variety of voices will fuel better discussion on the night.
For catering purposes, pre-registration is essential. Local growers can secure their spots by contacting Food & Fibre Gippsland or registering through the official event links online.
