It has been decades in the planning, but a major redevelopment of the Sale Golf Club is steadily moving toward the final approval and construction stages.
The ambitious proposal, spearheaded by Gippsland Links, features a comprehensive integrated golf and residential development at the Longford site. The master plan includes the creation of seven new golf holes alongside a retirement village and a residential housing estate.
Sale Golf Club committee members have described the project as a monumental game-changer for the local area.
“This is a project that has been more than 20 years in the making, and it has the potential to deliver significant benefits for the club and the broader community,” a committee spokesperson said.
Importantly for local golf enthusiasts, the design ensures a fully redeveloped, premium 18-hole course. The new layout will seamlessly incorporate parts of the existing, well-loved fairways with the newly established holes.
With approximately 300 residential lots proposed in total, the project represents a bold vision for the future — one that the club is incredibly keen to see come to fruition.
