Major community upgrades are underway in Orbost following the latest meeting of the Orbost and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Local committee members gathered on Tuesday, August 18 to finalise several key public-facing projects, including the installation of a new town defibrillator and progress on a major pub wall mural.
In a significant boost to local public safety, a new automated external defibrillator (AED) has been successfully installed next to the Andrews Land & Surf store on the main street.
The committee has also formalised plans to address the damaged mural on the bottom pub wall.
The physical restoration process will involve several steps, including removing the old, damaged mural and the repainting of the wall.
Behind the scenes, the chamber is undergoing a broader review of its operations, governance, purpose and membership structures.
As part of this process, the chamber is identifying members for a new subcommittee, which has been given the interim name of the Orbost and District Community Development Committee.
