After a short break, and with some new faces in the lineup, pub rock cover band The Wheelie Blind Band will be taking to the stage at the Orbost Club Hotel in October.
Formed in 2022, the band began with father and son Tim Brunt (lead vocals) and Cody Brunt (lead guitar), with the support and involvement of friends and family.
The band’s unusual name is a nod to the founding lineup, which included Marco Crescenzio (rhythm guitar), who uses a wheelchair, alongside Tim, who lives with significant vision impairment.
The Wheelie Blind Band seemed a fitting, tongue-in-cheek name and has stuck ever since.
Following the lineup changes, the band has regrouped as a seven-piece, with Callum Smith (drums), David Taylor (saxophone), Dave Knaap (synth/keys), Garry Norton (rhythm guitar/vocals) and Toby Redston (bass) joining Tim and Cody.
They come from all parts of East Gippsland – Sale, Paynesville, Lakes Entrance, Newmerella and Orbost.
The upcoming Orbost appearance marks the first of many planned performances for the refreshed lineup, with more shows to be announced soon.
The Wheelie Blind Band will perform at the Orbost Club Hotel from 7pm on Saturday, October 3.
