SOCIAL BOWLS
Last Thursday’s social bowls session attracted 20 bowlers on a beautiful day to be out and about.
The players taking to the greens with sunnies, hats and sunscreen for the two games of 10 ends.
After the second games were completed, bowlers went onto the club house for a cool refreshment and chat.
The match committee announced that once again there was only a single team who won both their games.
Geoff Robinson, Scott Farnell(skip), Jan Lynn and Rob Black took the bragging rights for the session.
Scroungers was the name of the game on Sunday, though numbers were slightly down due several members playing a tournament at Howitt Park.
The weather was slightly overcast and a little on the cool side but still good for bowling.
In what proved to be a very close round, the highest point scorers for the afternoon were Sue Robinson (65), Scott Farnell (64) and Geoff Lynn (63).
At the conclusion of round two, Geoff Lynn tops the leaderboard with a score of 127, and he also has the highest average of 63.5, however, with another five rounds to go nothing is guaranteed.
The next social bowls will be on Thursday, players to be at the club no later than 12.30pm.
