Make a splash on the first day of summer when the Orbost Outdoor Pool opens the gates for the 2018/19 swim season this Saturday.
The pool was recently repainted before being filled in time for the Saturday, December 1, opening and to celebrate there will be free entry all day with loads of fun activities. The open day runs from noon to 2pm with large pool inflatables, pop up fitness activities, pool games and a barbecue.
The facility has 50-metre and toddlers’ pools, which are solar heated, and a kiosk facility.
Throughout the season opening hours are based on the forecast temperature of the coming day and will be posted on the East Gippsland Shire Facebook page the evening prior.
Lap swimming is available 6-8am Monday to Friday and 4-6pm weekends.
Recreational swimming times are as follow: 23°C and below 4-6pm; 2434°C 12-7pm (December 17 to January 29 and public holidays) and 37pm. 35°C and above 10am-8pm.
Throughout the swim season, the pool will deliver the ‘Swim and Survive’ swim program, designed by Life Saving Victoria. Enrol by contacting the Lakes Entrance Aquadome or visit the shire’ s website. Other programs include aqua aerobics, lap swimming and fun days with the large pool inflatables.
Season memberships and casual entry available.
