Orbost dug deep last Friday.
The town was booming for the start of the Easter weekend with visitors from far and wide enjoying the spectacular weather, all the while raising money for the 90th annual Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Members of the Orbost CFA and huge contingent of volunteer tin rattlers rounded the streets of the town, gathering a staggering$18,322, topping the efforts of Lakes Entrance ($14,158) and Bairnsdale ($6199).
The Appeal this year raised$17,122,879.
Funds from this year’s Good Friday Appeal will go towards the new statewide Virtual Care Program for a collaborative approach to care, upgraded medical imaging ultrasound machines to continue to advance patient care and over 25 different types of equipment to be used across the Royal Children’s Hospital.
