Bushfire recovery has been a slow burn, but finally some action will begin on the Cape Conran rebuild.
Closing in on two years since the Black Summer Bushfires ripped through parts of East Gippsland, Cape Conran Coastal Park is now progressing with the engagement of a Gippsland-based construction company to rebuild accommodation in the park.
It had previously been announced that $3.5 million worth of works will be completed at the park.
Parks Victoria has engaged Bairnsdale company, CadBuild, to construct 10 brand new cabins at Banksia Bluff to replace and add to the cabins and wilderness retreats destroyed by the fires.
The distinctive accommodation will be energy efficient and built from sustainable, fire-resistant materials, sourced from Gippsland suppliers wherever possible.
