“Massive.”
That was the word used to describe recent trade by owner of the Snowy River Emporium, Jenny Bartlett. When the Snowy River Mail called in to Ms Bartlett’s business last Friday, trade was continuing to be steady, with the recent King’s Birthday long weekend providing a welcome boost.
Ms Bartlett, who has been in Orbost for the past four years, is remaining positive despite the recent downturn of the native timber industry.
“I don’t buy into the doom and gloom,” Ms Bartlett said.
“To me, Orbost is doing fine – you’ve just got to be positive. This town is resilient, the people here are resilient.”
