Term three came to an end last Friday for primary and secondary students in the area, while Orbost Community College principal, Peter Seal, finished with a wealth of knowledge for the community regarding the progress of the school build.
Mr Seal circulated a newsletter to the current school communities of Orbost Primary School, Orbost North Primary School and Orbost Secondary College. The scaffolding at the front of the Orbost Community College was removed last week and now the front of the building has been exposed.
This week, the second part of the relocatable building will be in place and another step closer to being complete.
While current students enrolled at one of the three amalgamated schools will automatically transfer across, any 2024 prep students wanting to enrol or students coming from other schools should contact one of the three schools early next term to proceed with the enrolment process.
“Last night (Wednesday), I received notice that our request for an interim school council to be appointed, had been approved by the Minister for Education, Natalie Hutchins,” Mr Seal said. “This means that we can now have a governance body that can make decisions for our new school.
