The Marlo Hotel was the place to be on Saturday night as the Deep in the Weeds festival drew a full house eager to experience an electrifying lineup of musicians.
Headlining the event was Watty Thompson and his Total Fire Band, who closed out the 2024 East Gippsland Winter Festival with a memorable performance.
Sailors Grave Brewing’s new site, Dunetown on the Marlo Plains Road, unfortunately just wasn’t quite up to completion in time for the event.
Despite this, Chris and Gab Moore, owners of Sailors Grave Brewing, were thrilled to team up with the Marlo Hotel to ensure the festival’s success once more.
Watty Thompson captivated the audience with his high-energy set, showcasing his rare talent for expressing the full spectrum of human emotions through music.
His performance was a highlight of the evening, leaving attendees both exhilarated and moved.
Supporting acts included Harry Hook is Real, Fenn Wilson, Olivia Lay, and Megan Kennedy, each bringing their unique sound to the stage and adding to the night’s vibrant atmosphere.
Festivalgoers also enjoyed a diverse array of food options, with Wild Pie offering unique pastry-encased meals made from feral and native animals, alongside vegetarian selections.
The Deep in the Weeds festival not only provided a night of exceptional music but also celebrated community spirit, creativity, and the joy of shared experiences, making it a fitting finale to this year’s East Gippsland Winter Festival.
