Take a Well-Being Break

Looking after your well-being and connecting with others is important in challenging times – and we all know that laughter is the best medicine.

There is an opportunity to take part in a practical ‘Take a Well-Being Break’ workshop at Bruthen in August.

The workshop will bring farmers, farming families and couples together to provide well-being tools and information, connect and share ideas, and to identify practical strategies you can immediately implement to positively impact your well-being.

Producers are encouraged to get off the farm and give themselves the time and space to bring some calm to the chaos and focus on you.

The guest speaker is Cynthia Mahoney, billed as ‘Your Chief Happiness Officer’, an agricultural scientist and an experienced facilitator, who runs sessions that are designed to be creative, dynamic, fun and engaging.

East Gippsland Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator, Emma Orgill, said Cynthia ensured participants left her workshops with actionable change to apply back in their communities, workplaces and lives.

“By all accounts this wellness workshop is meant to be a great event,” Ms Orgill said. “Grab your partner or neighbour and book.”

She said the workshop was funded by the Farm Business Resilience Program, jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Victorian Government’s Future Agriculture Skills Capacity Fund.

The Bruthen workshop will take place at the Bruthen Hall on August 9 from 10am-2pm, and the cost is just $20 per person.

There is a second workshop planned for Maffra later in the month, on August 27, from 10am-2pm.

Tickets are available on TryBooking.
