A Melbourne restaurant that champions Gippsland’s finest produce has refurbished its rooftop space, creating a wine bar to allow further indulgence in Gippsland’s wares.
Remaining true to the Farmers Daughters ethos, the refurbished space will shine a spotlight on the finest wines from the Gippsland region, accompanied by seasonal share plates.
Of the refreshed space, Farmer’s Daughters executive chef, Alejandro Saravia, who is also the official Gippsland Food and Drinks Ambassador, said they were committed to delivering an unparalleled guest experience.
“To keep pace and evolve with Melbourne’s dynamic hospitality industry and enhance our offering, we’ve reimagined our Rooftop as a vibrant and cosy wine bar,” he said.
“This new space is a homage to our Gippsland roots, harmoniously blending rustic charm with a touch of Melbourne’s urban sophistication.
“Our curated collection of Gippsland wines, complemented by a menu showcasing the finest local produce, tells the revision’s story.
“Our sommeliers are prepared to perfectly pair each guest’s palate with the ideal wine and dish.”
Drawing inspiration from its rich Gippsland roots, the wine list, curated by Renascence Group’s expert sommeliers, led by Sommelier Matthew Jensen, exclusively showcases selections from some of the region’s most renowned producers, such as William Downie, Bass Phillip, and Patrick Sullivan, alongside boutique producers like Carrajung Estate, Fleet Wines, Lightfoot and more.
The crafted menu caters to both seasoned wine connoisseurs and enthusiastic novices alike.
The all-weather Rooftop offers a whole new dining space for the three-storey venue, the relaxed green oasis featuring plush banquette seating and a reimagined food and drink offering.
Formerly a space for walk-ins only, the Rooftop now takes bookings, catering to both small and large groups, single tables for normal trade, as well as being the perfect place to hold unique private and corporate functions.
Current highlights include Amber Creek leg ham with Powlett Reserve feijoa and wholegrain mustard; Lakes Entrance crudo with lime, orange, smoked green chilli, and coriander.
Showing a unique approach to provenance-based cuisine developed by Chef Saravia, Farmer’s Daughters has created a world-class ‘farm-to-table’ enterprise, aimed at challenging global leaders in the hospitality industry.
With three levels to explore, the Farmer’s Daughters venue at the prestigious 80 Collins precinct takes its visitors on a seasonal journey showcasing the abundant food offering from Victoria’s Gippsland region.
Open seven days, each level offers a different experience inspired by the produce, people and places of the Gippsland region.
From all day casual dining and a coffee window on the ground floor, through to the hatted Restaurant offering a degustation menu on the first floor and finishing with a Rooftop oasis celebrating Gippsland wines, Farmer’s Daughters works collaboratively with artisans and food and wine producers from the region to bring Gippsland to the heart of the Melbourne CBD.
Farmer’s Daughters can be found at 95 Exhibition Street, 80 Collins Precinct, Melbourne.
