The Omeo Netball-Tennis Courts were officially opened on Saturday, coinciding with the Omeo Benambra Football Netball Club’s home game against Buchan.
The Australian Government’s National Emergency Management Agency Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Fund was the major financial contribution to the $659,000 project, which was managed by the East Gippsland Shire Council.
The ribbon was finally cut for the Netball and Tennis Court Complex under the watchful eyes of councillors Arthur Allen and Sonia Buckley, and speeches from representatives of the sporting clubs.
The new and improved facilities include:
– Resurfaced courts
– New perimeter fencing
– New lighting to meet Netball Australia training standards
– New player and scorer shelters
– Secured storage area for equipment
– New pedestrian access path
– New spectator facilities
– Upgraded access road and parking area.
