It’s been a couple of big weekends of racing recently for local motorcycle ace, Olly Short.
The team made the trip to Phillip Island a fortnight ago for round five of the Australian Superbike Championships.
Despite the mixed bag of results, Short was happy with the bike and its speed.
The weather kept all riders on their toes with strong winds and rain but all agree that’s half the fun of the racing at the island.
Short qualified on the second row of the grid, unfortunately he got tangled up during the races and lost some ground, finishing in 11th and 12th, before not completing the final race.
Racing returned to Phillip Island on the weekend for the Victorian/South Australian Championships.
The championships gave Short the opportunity to play with his set ups and gearing, finding some happy mediums.
Competing in the SSP 300 series, Short qualified third and finished second and third in two of the races, while failing to finish in the other event.
In the Twinsprint progressive grid, Short had a first, second, third and a did not finish.
Short was pleased with the results and happy with the data he gained, which will be extremely beneficial going forward.
