New South Welshman Ben Hanscombe took out last week’s round seven Hobie Bream Series event at Mallacoota.
Hanscombe’s two-day total of 4.47kg was enough to edge out fellow New South Welshman Zachary Mozoroff by 0.02kg, with Simon Morley making a New South Wales top three with a total of 4.41kg.
Hanscombe’s 2.46kg day one catch was enough to give him a handy lead, backing up on
day two with a solid 2.03kg catch.
Local anglers Steven Pryke and Ruth Beeby featured in the top 20, Pryke weighing in six fish for a 3.61kg total, while Beeby reeled in five bream for 3.23kg.
Seventy-seven anglers weighed in 301 fish totalling 176.33kg for an average of 0.59kg.
