Orbost fisherman, Allan Lavell, is set to finish 2024 with an impressive feat, having logged more than 5000 kilometres of travel to compete in three prestigious bream fishing championships.
Lavell’s love for angling has taken him far and wide and this year he’s qualified for not just one, but three major tournaments over the coming months.
First on his schedule is the 2024 Hobie Fishing Series 15 Australian Championship, which will be held in Camden Haven, NSW, in mid-November.
Lavell is eager to test his skills against the best anglers in the country in this premier kayak fishing competition.
A week later, he’ll head to Nelson, NSW, for the 2024 NS Rods Sunline Bream Classic grand final.
Teaming up with ex-local David Shanahan, Lavell will compete under their team’s name Al Al Allan Team Marlo.
The duo recently secured a strong result during the fifth round of the competition held at Marlo in mid-October, boosting their confidence heading into the final.
Lavell’s third and final competition of the year will take place at Lake Macquarie, where he will compete in The Daiwa BREAM Series grand final.
This series is considered one of the most prestigious events on the bream fishing calendar, and Allan’s qualification is a testament to his dedication and expertise in the sport.
With three major events ahead, Allan Lavell is ready to cap off 2024 in style, showcasing his passion and skills across some of Australia’s top fishing locations.
