It was a tough match last week for the Orbost/Bruthen under 16s, going down to Lindenow South Glenaladale in the Bairnsdale Cricket Association (BCA) round three clash at the Orbost Recreation Reserve.
The unbeaten Bulls batted first and playing an attacking brand of cricket managed to score 6/136 from 25 overs.
Wickets for the Blues
were taken by Mitchell Farley, Alex Ottoson, Alexander Jenkins, Lucas Shanahan, Jimmy Hardy and Hayden Clarke.
In reply they were bundled out for just 39, with Shanahan and Riley Mehlert top scoring with eight runs apiece.
The under 13s played Paynesville on Friday night at AJ Freeman Reserve in Paynesville and after losing the toss were sent in to bat.
After their allotment of 20 overs, Orbost had reached a respectable 3/52.
In reply a classy Gulls outfit amassed 3/100, with William Jenkins taking two wickets and Jasper Anderson one.
There are no Bairnsdale Cricket Association junior matches this week due to the Melbourne Cup long weekend.
Orbost/Bruthen under 16s next match is a two-day fixture on November 9 and 16 against Paynesville at the Orbost Recreation Reserve.
The under 13s next match will be on Friday, November 8 against Wy Yung at the Orbost Recreation Reserve.
