It was a great result for the Orbost Cricket Club juniors with both teams successful last weekend in Bairnsdale Cricket Association matches.
Last Friday night the under 13s made 3/84 from their 20 over allotment, winning by 13 runs over Wy Yung who were gallant in defeat, making 6/71 from their allocation.
This week the Blues take on Buchan at the Buchan Recreation Reserve on Friday night.
The Bruthen/Orbost under 16 side defeated Paynesville on first innings on the opening day of a two-day fixture at the Orbost Recreation Reserve.
Batting first the Gulls were dismissed for just 70, with wickets shared between Mitchell Farley (2/12), Alex Ottoson (2/23), Lucas Shanahan (3/9), Alexander Jenkins (1/5) and Samson Clementine (1/5).
By the close of play, Bruthen/Orbost had reached 5/74, with Farley top scoring with 16, and other valuable contributions coming from Ollie Hodson (11), Riley Mehlert (12) and Ottoman (10).
