Gippsland Lakes Complete Health (GLCH) recently took part in Inclusion@Work Week, an annual initiative led by the Diversity Council of Australia to celebrate diversity and inclusion in Australian workplaces.

The event provides an opportunity to highlight the benefits of inclusivity, including improved employee wellbeing, enhanced innovation and stronger organisational performance.

“At GLCH, we work hard at fostering an inclusive culture. We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued,” chief executive officer, Anne-Maree Kaser said.

“With an active Inclusion and Diversity Plan and a dedicated committee, GLCH is committed to removing barriers and supporting diverse backgrounds to bring their best to work every day.”

Reflecting on her journey, one staff member shared how GLCH’s commitment to inclusion has made a meaningful difference in their professional experience.

“Navigating the professional world with a physical disability has its challenges, but I’m incredibly grateful for the support from my manager and the CEO at GLCH. Their understanding allows me to fully contribute to our team.”

Prevention and Population Wellbeing Worker, Tehseen Zafar highlighted how the organisation celebrates cultural diversity: “Over the past two years, we’ve marked Ramadan, Easter, and other significant events, sharing treats and traditions to build community.

It’s these shared experiences that bring us closer and foster genuine connections. At GLCH, diversity isn’t just part of our mission – it’s who we are.”

GLCH is proud to support an environment where everyone can thrive, bringing their unique perspectives and strengths to drive creativity and collaboration.

During Inclusion@Work Week, the organisation reaffirms its commitment to building a workplace where all team members feel they belong and are respected for both who they are and the skills they bring.
