Local racer, Olly Short’s very frustrating Australian Superbike Championship culminated last week at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in South Australia with the staging of round seven.
It’s been a very difficult season for Short, who has tried so many things to get the bikes working the way he would like it, but unfortunately the team just couldn’t seem to get it right.
It’s resulted in Short leaving each round more disheartened and disappointed.
Coming into this final round, down on morale, the team opted for completely new suspension package and after a whole season chasing his tail, Short believes he might have finally turned the corner.
He was stoked to be able to push the bike and feel comfortable.
There were some setbacks with sickness early on, engine problems during practice/qualifying and a get off in race three, but regardless he was over the moon to have gotten a suspension package together and to be the fastest on the Dunlop tyres.
He finished 13th, 11th and 21st in the three races for a final championship standing of 12th, with plenty to look forward to in 2025.
