For more than two decades, Movember has been a transformative force in men’s health, funding more than 1320 projects worldwide.
From challenging stereotypes to revolutionising men’s health research and services, the movement has inspired over six million participants globally, including a
passionate team from Orbost Regional Health (ORH).
In 2023, the Orbost team raised an impressive $2449, but in 2024, they have taken their efforts to the next level.
With 19 dedicated members, including strong support from some of the men at the Orbost Golf Club, the team has broken records with $5010 being raised.
Leading the charge is team member, Brian McDonald, whose individual fundraising efforts have been instrumental in boosting the total tally, raising $2099 as the highest individual team member.
ORH staff member Andrew Phillips
is encouraging more local sporting
organisations and clubs to join the initiative in 2025.
Those interested can reach out to either Andrew or Stefan at ORH to be part of this growing movement.
Movember’s mission is to tackle the three biggest health issues facing men: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
Thanks to efforts like those in Orbost, men are living healthier, longer lives, and community involvement is growing stronger each year.
The ORH team’s commitment, combined with the enthusiasm of the Orbost Golf Club, highlights the power of collective action.
Together, they’re growing more than just moustaches – they’re growing awareness and hope for men everywhere.
