Four years ago, a dream was born to start a little retro vintage shop in Orbost to share the beauty of vintage treasures showcasing unique, nostalgic items that are full of character.
What began as a small pop-up shop of local produce and curated retro pieces has blossomed into a thriving growing business.
Owner manager of Snowy River Emporium Jenni Bartlett, moved from Rosebud to Orbost and has always had a love for retro and vintage collectibles.
“Whether it was a classic 70s lamp, a 50s polka-dot dress, or a vintage record these items have a magic about them like a favourite childhood memory or discovering unique vintage items for the first time,” she said.
“The journey wasn’t always easy, especially during Covid. Like any small business, there were challenges to overcome.
“My love for vintage culture, the connections I made with customers, and the joy of sharing these beautiful objects kept me going.”
In these four years, the Snowy River Emporium has grown to a larger location, evolved, and connected with people from all over.
“Tourists and locals enjoy taking a stroll down memory lane, finding an elusive treasure they’ve been searching for.”
“Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far the shop has come. But looking forward, I’m even more excited for what’s to come next when I open Orbost’s first tiki bar in early 2025,” Jenni said.
