There are plenty of anglers taking to the waters of far East Gippsland, with some great results reported.
Marlo: Bream, luderick and flathead are biting, mullet are also showing interest in pilchard and pippies. Salmon, tailor and gummy shark are active off the beach, responding well to metal lures.
Bemm River: The entrance is closed at the time of publication. Flathead continue to be active in the lake and channel, with soft plastics, hard bodies and local prawns working well. Bream are a bit on the slow side, but there are some good size specimens if you can hook them. Surf beach for salmon and tailor taking pilchards and surf poppers.
Tamboon Inlet: There are good numbers of bream and flathead in the system to be had.
Mallacoota: Dusky flathead are still in the inlet, taking lures, soft plastics, pilchards, squid and pippies. Great to see the odd mulloway being landed.
