East Gippsland Shire Councillors and senior staff will be visiting Orbost and surrounds next Tuesday, February 25, for a day of engagement with the local community.
Mayor Cr John White said councillors are looking forward to spending time with the community, including at an open invitation community lunch at the Orbost Arts (Exhibition) Centre from 12.15 to 1.15pm.
“This is our first community visit for the year. We are looking forward to visiting Orbost, meeting residents, groups and businesses, and learning more about what matters most to them,” Cr White said.
“It is a valuable opportunity to listen, share ideas, and strengthen our connection with the people who live and work here. Understanding their needs, challenges and aspirations helps guide our decision-making and ensures we continue to deliver meaningful outcomes for the community.”
If you would like to attend the community lunch, please RSVP for catering purposes by Monday, February 24 by calling council or visiting the Orbost Service Centre.
During the visit, council representatives will also tour local facilities, visit council-managed sites, and meet with business and community organisation representatives.
More community visits are being planned across the shire throughout the year.
