Probians of the Gippsland land area celebrated the annual friendship day on Wednesday, February 19, hosted by the Paynesville probus group.
One-hundred-and-ten members attended with a contingent from each association – Traralgon, Sale, Maffra, Bairnsdale, Mitchell River, Lakes Entrance, Orbost and Paynesville.
A delicious morning tea was had on arrival and 20 door prizes announced during the day.
Participants enjoyed a river cruise, a two course lunch and a koala walk on Raymond island before wrapping up at 3pm after a most enjoyable day with lots of laughter, delightful food and terrific prizes.
Next year’s hosts will be Maffra.
The Orbost Probus Club had its monthly meeting on Thursday, February 20 at 10am at the senior citizens room. After morning tea Audrey Vandenberg gave a most interesting presentation on shipwrecks along the coastline of East Gippsland followed by a delicious lunch at the Orbost Club.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, March 20 at 10am at the senior citizens room.
