Orbost residents are being invited to join a reference group that will help design a safe, accessible and aesthetically pleasing footpath in Orbost.
The footpath renewal along Nicholson Street in Orbost will improve accessibility and safety.
The upgrade will focus on the existing footpath on the east side of Nicholson Street, between McLeod Street and Clarke Street to promote safe pedestrian movement and ensure compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 while reducing ongoing maintenance costs.
Pedestrian infrastructure plays a crucial role in creating liveable, safe and vibrant communities.
The current focus is on design, with construction subject to funding availability.
The scope of works includes removal of certain trees to prevent further root damage, renewal of footpath pavement and investigation of underground drainage.
To apply, head to the YourSay East Gippsland page and fill out the form, or contact council via phone or email.
