With approximately 300 exhibitor spaces available and numerous quality promotions at the Field Days, between 8 – 10,000 visitors are attracted to the event each year, most of them on the lookout for new products, services and information.
East Gippsland supports a diverse range of agricultural and rural industries.
It has agricultural holdings of some 750,000-ha based around beef, wool,
dairy, vegetables and cropping, is seeing a growth in emerging enterprises such as flower growing and viticulture and has a strong hobby and part time farming population.
The region is also home to Australia’s largest fishing fleet, a major timber industry producing 25 per cent of Victoria’s hardwood output, as well as expanding tourism, manufacturing and retail
sectors.
East Gippsland has significant equipment, product and service needs, so there are many good reasons to be an exhibitor.
For visitors, seeing such a huge range of products in one location is an annual opportunity not to be missed. The Field Days are an iconic event on the East Gippsland calendar that has been proudly run by the Lindenow Lions Club since its inception in 1986.
Live music
This year solo musicians will be welcomed to perform on two open-mic stages – one near The Big Green Shed (which is the hub for great food) and the other stage will be located up at the Gippsland Agricultural Group’s (GAGS) building.
Competitions
You can also enjoy the thrill of competitions like woodchopping and sheep dog trials.
There are live reptile and animal shows as well as a dog education space.
As if that isn’t enough you can feast on something else that East Gippsland is famous for – wonderful food.
Animal nursery
There will be plenty of fun furry beauties to discover in the animal nursery at this year’s event.
The East Gippsland Field Days are excited to be welcoming back Barn Babies over both days. Another free of charge activity on hand for families at the field days.
Screening is the best form of prevention
Let’s talk about bowel screening and how a simple test could save your life.
Not joking – this is really important.
Did you know that 90 per cent of bowel cancers can be successfully treated if found early?
It’s encouraged people aged between 45 and 74 complete their free test every two years.
The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program is hitting the road and will be appearing at the East Gippsland Field Days.
Drop past the stand to find out more about this free lifesaving program.
Volunteer – make friends
Put your hand up and help the team
in ‘The Big Green Shed’ at this year’s
event.
You will probably make new friends. You may have an hour, half a day or want to be there over two days – whatever you can offer will help this fantastic group of people continue to raise funds for their local community.
