The team at Playful Paws believe all dogs and their pet parents can have a strong, positive and fun relationship.
Playful Paws have an inclusive, fun community where all feel welcome.
They realise that every team and family are different and need a unique and personalised service to suit.
Their services can be mixed and matched to suit your overall goals; from the Puppy Kinder program (which is a specialised training focussed doggie daycare), to private training, group classes, workshops, assistance and therapy dog training.
They also specialise in finding a fit for each family.
At Playful Paws they offer positive, science-based and ethical training methods only.
This means they are looking to enhance your relationship and trust, this includes teaching you both to look for the behaviour you want and teaching it on a cue.
One of the easiest things you can do is to provide enrichment for your dog.
These could include:
– Scent activities (sniffing is a natural calming behaviour) – Throw some food over the back lawn (you could get rid of feeding in a bowl and use their breakfast/dinner), or create a scent path using dog friendly essential oils
– Treat puzzle – Letting your dog focus on how to get food out of a puzzle lets them calm in a positive way
– Activities together – Go for a run or go up bush away from any stressors – Have a digging sandpit just for your dog.
These enrichment activities help to minimise unwanted behaviour, such as barking and digging, and can be used with a training plan to support separation related behaviour/anxiety.
