Farmers and service providers in the Maffra region are invited to a unique workshop designed to support both the wellbeing of individuals and the performance of their businesses.
The Farming Stronger: Tools for Peak Performance workshop offers a fresh approach, focused not just on hard work, but on working smart, especially during high-pressure times.
This free, hands-on workshop
will explore how farmers can improve decision-making under stress, manage workloads more effectively and build a culture of health
and sustainable high performance on the farm.
It’s an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands and take time to focus on the people side
of the farm business, something
that’s critical for long-term resilience and success.
The workshop focuses on making better decisions under pressure, learning practical strategies for staying clear-headed and make sound choices, no matter what is going on around you. To assist with building personal resilience, understand the science behind stress and create a healthier mindset. Strengthening your business by discovering how investing in your own performance can lead to a stronger, more sustainable farm business and connecting to share stories, support each other, and gain fresh perspectives on handling the pressures of farming.
Cynthia Mahoney, a leadership and sustainable high-performance expert with deep roots in agriculture, will guide the session.
With years of experience working alongside farmers, she understands the unique pressures they face and the critical role our brains play in both personal and business success.
“Farming is tough – it’s one of the most demanding jobs out there,
both physically and mentally,”
Ms Mahoney said.
“This workshop is about giving farmers the practical tools and strategies to handle whatever the season throws at them, make better decisions under pressure, and stay in farming for the long haul.”
“By investing in their own resilience and leadership, farmers can make better decisions, strengthen their businesses, and create a more sustainable future for themselves and their families. Remember, you are your farm’s most important asset,” said Ms Mahoney.
The workshop will be held at Duart Homestead in Maffra on Tuesday, May 27, from 10.30am to 2.30pm, including morning tea, lunch and notes. It’s free to attend, thanks to support from Agriculture Victoria through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
