St Joseph’s Primary School, Orbost will join Catholic schools across the Diocese of Sale in celebrating Catholic Education Week from May 16 to 23, 2025.
This year’s theme, “Pilgrims of Hope,” echoes Pope Francis’ Jubilee Year of Hope, encouraging reflection on the power of faith and the importance of nurturing hope in local communities.
St Joseph’s is marking the week with a number of special activities which kicked off on Friday, May 16, including a whole school Walk of Faith – a mini pilgrimage with prayer stations around its grounds – and a mini social justice project, led by its student council through a coin trail house challenge.
Students have also created a vibrant ‘Hope Wall’ filled with messages and artwork that reflect what hope means to them.
The school’s open day will be held on Thursday, May 22 from 4pm–5.30pm.
Catholic Education Week is a treasured time in the St Joseph’s calendar to celebrate its identity, shared values and the unique spirit that makes the school a place of faith, learning and belonging.
Current and prospective families are invited to come along and experience what makes St Joseph’s the little school with a
big heart.
