Local speed ace, Olly short recently raced in round four of the Australian Superbike Championships at Warwick in Queensland.
Short was delighted to get back in the swing of things, but having done minimal laps in preparation, he was praying for a trouble free run and aside from a brake fail in race two, that’s how it worked out.
The bike had plenty of pace and kept progressing on the setup, but Short didn’t quite nail the correct gearing, so he was left a bit short through some parts of the circuit.
With more time and he would have dialled it in, but generally he was happy with how the round played out considering how disappointed he has been in the first three rounds.
“We threw down some of the fastest laps, our suspension setup was ace and the tyres held up a treat on the freezing track temps,” Short said.
After qualifying in seventh, he finished fifth in race one and sixth in race three, the brake issue not allowing a finish in race two.
He’s now keen to put the start of this season behind him and looking forward to the rest of it, with eyes on the top step.
Round five will be held at the Queensland Raceway from August 8-10.
