Orbost Snowy Rovers has consolidated its third place on the East Gippsland Junior Football
Association (EGJFA) ladder, with a comprehensive 30-point win over Paynesville at AJ Freeman Reserve in Paynesville.
The Blues now have six wins and four losses recorded after 11 rounds and have now looked in a guaranteed finals appearance in 2025.
Orbost put the game out of the reach of the Gulls with a sensational first half,
which included nine unanswered goals, as Chad Russell (three goals), Hunter Greaves (three) and Jemma Martin ran amuck in a busy Blues forward 50.
The second half was a much more low key affair, with the better players for Blues being Lily Clark, Emmett Clementine, Charlotte Burt, Allister Horner and Jack Joiner.
The Blues under 15 side had a bye, with Paynesville not fielding a side this season, while the under
11s impressed in their battle with the Gulls, the coaching staff full of praise for
their efforts.
With the EGJFA enjoying its school holiday break, the Orbost Snowy Rovers’ next match will be on July 20, when they welcome the Wy Yung Tigers to Lochiel Park.
