The East Gippsland Winter Festival still has one more weekend of wintery fun to take advantage of.
The closing weekend sees Orbost, Marlo and Paynesville putting on street parties, parades, music festivals, winter feasts, trestle bridge soirées, cold plunges and magical mayhem.
Highlight events to round out this year’s festival include:
– Snowy Steampunk Soiree, Friday, July 18, Orbost: Kick the weekend off Friday night by getting your steampunk on with the Snowy Steampunk Soiree twilight drinks and tunes under the historic Snowy Rail Bridge which will be decked out in vintage-industrial wonder.
It’s set to be an epic event with all proceeds going to the continued restoration of the iconic bridge.
– TL;DR – Live at the Muddie, Saturday, July 19, the Mudbrick Pavilion Mallacoota: TL;DR is a new quarter brought together by trumpeter/composer Peter Knight. TL;DR creates hypnotic, minimal, groove-based music that is fresh and distinctive. They will also play at the Orbost Arts Centre on Sunday, July 20.
– Deep In The Weeds at Sailors Grave’s Dunetown, Saturday, July 19, Marlo: Sailor’s Grave Brewing’s infamous Deep In The Weeds Festival is back, taking place at Dunetown, for the first time – their epic new
home base.
The epic party is back for the fifth year running, this year headlined by Blake Scott, with a Sardinian food and fire experience from Trulli, desserts by The Long Paddock, and of course amazing beers from
Sailor’s Grave.
– The Little Dip by The Little Drift, Sunday, July 20, Marlo: From Deep In The Weeds to the ocean’s edge – The Little Dip kicks off the The Little Drift accomodation launch at Sailors Grave Brewing, welcoming attendees to take part in a cold plunge to sharpen the senses and clear the mind.
– Sunday Bloody Sunday, Sunday, July 20, Marlo: After the Deep In The Weeds Festival, head back to Dunetown for a recovery session with Mexican breakfasts, Bloody Marys and bottomless filter coffee.
