There were mixed results for the Orbost Snowy Rovers in the final round of the East Gippsland Junior Football Association (EGJFA) at Lochiel Park on Sunday.
The under 15 team were comprehensively defeated by Lucknow by 60 points, with the Magpies having match winners all over
the ground.
Daniel Martin and Jimmy Hardy both kicked two goals for the Blues in their final match of the season, not making it through to the finals this year after winning last year’s premiership.
Martin, Jarrah Morrison, Lachlan Robinson, Alexander Jenkins and Jack Scott were
among the best players for the Blues in tough afternoon for the lads.
The under 13 side head into their finals campaign with the best possible scenario, six-point winners over their upcoming
finals opponent.
The Magpies threw everything at the Blues in the final term, but Orbost held firm, scoring a morale and confidence boosting win, squaring the ledger between the two sides for the season.
Kayden Smith and Chad Rogers both kicked two goals for Orbost, with the better players being Noah Hanratty, Samson Clementine, Isabella-Rose Burt and Hunter Greaves.
The EGJFA finals commence on Sunday at the Bairnsdale City Oval, with the Orbost Snowy Rovers under 13 side playing Lucknow in the elimination final at 9.30am.
