East Gippsland Art Gallery invites the community to celebrate the opening of four new exhibitions on Friday, October 31 — Presently, Here, Roads Well-Travelled by Laurel Foenander, Amanda Barnes in the Sideshow Gallery and In the Vault, Brian Appleton.
Presently, Here celebrates the creative
friendships that have grown through a shared passion for clay.
Featuring works by Andrea Hall, Liz Millear,
Elizabeth McCarthy, Wendy Reeve, Bradden Taylor, Cindy Tong and Elisabeth Wearne, this exhibition embodies the elements of earth, air, water and fire — and the spirit of connection that binds them.
Gippsland realist painter Laurel Foenander presents Roads Well-Travelled, a striking collection of oil paintings.
A contemporary realist with more than 25 years of practice, Laurel is known for her finely detailed and evocative depictions of the natural world.
Winner of the 2021 Maritime Art Prize, her work is held in both private and public collections and is widely celebrated for her portrayals of Australian native birds.
In the Sideshow Gallery is Amanada Barnes’ recent work and in the Vault, local artist
Brian Appleton fills the gallery with colour, humour and heart.
His playful tiny paintings, blending text and imagery, are designed to uplift and delight.
The exhibitions are on display until Saturday, December 6.
Everyone is warmly invited to the opening on Friday, October 31 at 5.30pm at East Gippsland Art Gallery.
Come along to meet the artists, enjoy the art, and celebrate creativity in the community.
