The Buchan Precision Rifle Club hosted its November NRL22 Course of Fire Re-Shoot last Saturday, with 11 brave souls fronting up, despite knowing full well the rain gods had them on their radar.
But spirits stayed high, largely thanks to the club’s four-legged mascot who made the rounds dishing out pats and moral support between stages.
Despite the weather, competition was fierce with Matthew Hutchinson turning up with what can only be described as the ultimate cheat code – a brand new Anschutz 1727 APR.
But even with that shiny piece of kit, he had to settle for fifth behind Matt Cunningham, who proved that skill still trumps gear.
Lachy Marshall wasn’t far behind, missing first place by just five impacts, and Mark Hederman rounded out the top three while giving his new Discovery optics scope (straight off last week’s prize table) a solid workout.
The re-shoot definitely proved worthwhile for the match directors and volunteers from last weekend’s event, getting their own crack at the course paid off with a shuffle up the leaderboard.
The Buchan Precision Rifle Club will host a general meeting on Monday, November 17, at Riviera Pumps and Generators.
Hot topics on the table include a general club review, recent match outcomes, club affiliations and rifles.
