The Buchan District Flower Art, Craft, and Photography Show has once again flourished, bringing together locals and visitors for a vibrant display of talent and creativity.
Walking into the hall the bright colours and beautiful fragrances once more filled
the hall with a feast for the senses, from classic roses to native wildflowers.
The art and craft section was equally impressive, with hand-made treasures.
Artists, potters, painters, sewers, knitters and resin artists filled the space with works that ranged from traditional to contemporary, each piece revealing the skill and imagination of its maker.
The children’s section featured art and craft made throughout the year by Buchan Kindergarten and Primary School students — from paintings and Lego models to pottery and self-portraits.
Entries in the cooking and produce categories were strong this year, with baskets of homegrown fruit and vegetables, citrus, jams, preserves, cakes, slices, sauces and bread.
Photography entries doubled, showing everything from wide Buchan landscapes to everyday moments of local life.
“Beyond the competitions, the 93rd Annual show, continues to foster pride and a wonderful sense of communities, coming together across our Buchan district,” Buchan Arts Council secretary, Suzanne Davies, said.
“We would also like to extend our appreciation to all our volunteers and sponsors for their continued support of our annual event.”
