The dance floor at the Buchan Caves Hotel is set for a takeover this winter, with the venue’s bistro transforming into a vibrant, family-friendly neon disco party for local youngsters.
Scheduled for Saturday, July 4, from 5pm to 8pm, the ‘Disco in the Bistro’ event is locked in as a perfect way for families to warm up during the winter school holidays as part of the broader East Gippsland Winter Festival lineup.
The hotel bistro will be completely rearranged into a mini neon dance arena packed with spectacular lights, retro music and high-energy entertainment tailored specifically for the youth of East Gippsland.
The legendary DJ Boomer will be behind the decks all evening, spinning a playlist of classic party tracks, chart-toppers and singalongs.
Organisers are promising a fast-paced night full of dance battles, coordinated disco moves, and plenty of interactive fun.
Local families, cousins and neighbours are encouraged to head out together for the night.
Young attendees are invited to throw on their brightest neon outfits, sparkliest shoes, or favourite party gear to match the illuminated theme.
While the kids are busy hitting the dance floor, parents and guardians can kick back, relax, and enjoy dinner and a drink within the warm, welcoming country pub atmosphere that the historic Buchan Caves Hotel is known for.
Entry to the disco is via a simple gold coin donation at the door, making it an affordable school holiday outing for families.
The dance floor is open to all ages, and no prior bookings are required.
