A new partnership between Mallacoota District Health and Support Service (MDHSS) and Life Without Barriers will support the Mallacoota community to have access to the essential health and support services it relies on for years to come.
For many years, MDHSS has been a trusted part of the Mallacoota community, helping local people live independently, stay connected and access the services they need close to home.
The homegrown organisation plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the community by providing in-home aged care, independent living, respite, disability support, and primary and allied health services.
“This partnership provides a strong foundation for the future of MDHSS and the services our community depends on,” Mallacoota District Health and Support Service chief executive, Anne Mwagiru, said.
“By combining our local knowledge and community connections with the resources and expertise of Life Without Barriers, we can continue delivering high-quality care and support while being well positioned to meet future needs.”
Through this new partnership, services will continue to be delivered by the same dedicated local team, with the added support and resources of community not-for-profit Life Without Barriers.
The partnership brings together MDHSS’s deep local knowledge and strong community connections with Life Without Barriers’ additional support as an experienced provider of community services.
“MDHSS has built an exceptional reputation for supporting the Mallacoota community and we are proud to partner with an organisation that is so deeply connected to the people it serves,” Life Without Barriers executive director of aged care, Brendan Smith, said.
“We are both homegrown organisations and our focus is on strengthening what already exists, preserving the local relationships and knowledge that are so important, and ensuring the community continues to have access to high-quality services for many years to come.”
