Orbost Snowy Rovers played host to Lindenow during round 13 East Gippsland Junior Football Association action at Lochiel Park on Sunday.
The under 13s took to the field first, eager to chase down their first victory of the season against a tough Cats lineup.
In a competitive contest, the young Blues fought valiantly throughout, but were ultimately outmatched by Lindenow, who ran out 30-point victors.
Jack Joiner slotted two of the home side’s five goals. Sonny Marshall, Jaxon Murray, Amelie Hof and Jackson Faithfull were named among Orbost’s best players.
The under 15 fixture proved to be a high-scoring, entertaining affair, with Lindenow eventually pulling away to claim a 50-point win.
Hugh Scott kicked three goals for the Blues, while Hunter Greaves chipped in with two. Jimmy Hardy and Jacque Renaut also stood out with strong individual performances.
Orbost Snowy Rovers will travel to Bairnsdale City Oval this weekend for the final round of the home-and-away season against Bairnsdale, with the under 11s kicking off the action at 10.30am.
