There is plenty happening at the Orbost Basketball Association at present, with the new season up and running.
On Monday night, well-respected official Pam Brasher from the Basketball Victoria Country Council made the trip down to mentor, coach and grade the associations’ next generation of referees.
As a result and after plenty of hard work and dedication, Gemma Geer and Jarrah Morrison are now accredited “C” grade referees.
A girls squad information forum will be held on Sunday from 11-11.45am for all age groups.
It’s a chance for parents to come along and speak to the committee and find out all the relevant information regarding the upcoming squad season, while the players join an informal open training session.
The latest squad coaching appointment has seen Dayne Jorgensen take up the role of head coach of the 18/19 girls, with Amy Burn to act as team manager.
Registration is now open for term three Aussie Hoops, an ideal introduction to basketball form kids.
The six-week program will commence on August 4.
