Orbost’s St James Anglican Church Hall was filled with laughter and mayhem last Saturday night, July 28, for a Star Wars themed night with a full program of entertain- ment from the St James Players and Nowa Nowa Men’s Choir.
Part of the organising team, Bevil Lunson, said the night was a lot of fun with several thousand dollars were raised for various charities.
“The night was themed Star Wars and we asked people to come along dressed in costume. A lot of people did, which was great,” Bevil said.
“It was a fun night presented by the St James Players, starting with a skit from the Orbost Octopussies Synchronised Swimming Team, then another skit with the Orbost Family Camping Holiday Handicap.
“Patsy Cline visited us as part of her Back to Earth tour,” Bevil laughed, as it was he who had donned the persona, “and the Nowa Nowa Men’s Choir performed, too.”
The final skit for the night drew on the Star Wars theme and was a fun spoof of the popular film series.
“It was a great night. We’d decorated the hall in the theme and it was full of people having a fun time,” Bevil said.
