Regional Victorians were plunged back into yet another round of COVID lockdown on Saturday, August 21.
The Premier hastily made decisions in order to contain the current Delta outbreak that is wreaking havoc on much of eastern Australia and has since developed in regional city, Shepparton, costing the remainder of the state to feel the full effects of lockdown.
While Orbost Club Hotel owner, Tim Behan, may be out of the country broadcasting the Olympics to the rest of the world from Tokyo, temporary manager, Justin Hall is a quick learner and appears to know the drill as he has now had to prepare the 137-year-old hotel for closure three times since he has taken over the reigns in just six short weeks.
“You’re just left feeling angry,” Mr Hall said.
“First you break the news to staff and stand them down, cancel any bistro bookings, update the public in relation to our operations and then you deal with all the internal stuff –emptying beer lines, dealing with food wastage etc. It is just frustrating.”
